Vico d’Elsa is a small village in Chianti, situated on a hill facing San Gimignano. San Michele, an old farm-house dating from 1600, is just outside the village in a panoramic area among vineyards and olive trees. On the ground floor there is a large sitting room with original brick arches and a stone fireplace, a kitchen with an open barbecue, a bathroom with stall shower; one double bedroom with queen size bed and private bathroom with shower, and one bedroom with twin beds and private bathroom with shower. On the first floor guests will enjoy an exceptionally light and airy living room furnished with card and billiard tables, one double bedroom with queen size bed and private bathroom with shower, two bedrooms with twin beds sharing a bathroom with shower. The house is furnished with antique furniture and the décor includes many pictures, rugs, and typical Tuscan objects. The terracotta floors and exposed wooden beamed ceilings enhance the rustic Tuscan atmosphere. Guests will enjoy all modern comforts: Fridge/freezer, oven, washing machine, dishwasher, iron, satellite TV, independent heating and telephone. Outside, in the large garden, and around the large and sunny pool area, there are sunbathing beds, deckchairs, outdoor dining furniture and umbrellas. The swimming pool is at the guests’ disposal, but may be occasionally shared with the charming owners. A large terrace offers a view to San Gimignano, across the vineyards and the olive groves of the Chianti area. Facilities nearby include bike rentals at Barberino Val d’Elsa Km. 6; horse riding in Ulignano at km. 5; supermarket at km. 3; Restaurant “Osteria di Vico” at 100 meters, a great favourite with guests here! During winter months the bedrooms on the ground floor are closed.
