Another of my “love at first sight” places… Villa Le Ginestre is an important villa, beautifully furnished, lying in the hills just 6 km from the historic city of Lucca and 60 km from Florence.  The Tuscan beaches of famed resorts such as Forte dei Marmi are 30 km away. This is an area of Tuscany which offers splendid panoramas with vast stretches of olive groves and excellent access to cities such as Pisa, Montecatini, Livorno and many other parts of Tuscany. Furthermore, the Cinque Terre are within easy reach of a day trip, as is the Italian Riviera.

The villa is surrounded by large terraces and an extensive garden with ancient plantings and Mediterranean vegetation; a large (night lighting) swimming pool is set in a panoramic position among the olive trees. Furnishings include many valuable and beautiful antique pieces and the whole ambience is very refined with typical Italian charm. All rooms including bedrooms and bathrooms have been decorated with superb good taste and many luxurious touches.

You enter the villa from a small lobby into a large salon with comfortable sofas and armchairs, opening into the main living room with adjacent formal dining area. Several doors from these rooms give access to the garden and furnished terraces. The large country kitchen opens off the living room and is well-equipped with dishwasher, microwave, oven, a large open fireplace, fridge/freezer. Nearby is the wine cellar available to guests and offering a choice of Tuscan wines (at extra cost). At the rear of the ground floor is the billiard room with a small fireplace, a bathroom with shower, the laundry and ironing room.

On the first floor are two queensize bedrooms with private bathrooms, one of which with Jacuzzi and both with showers; a twin bedroom with shower and tub and another twin bedroom which overlooks the swimming pool and shares the bathroom. There is a large panoramic terrace on this floor with views to the garden.

The second floor offers further sleeping accommodation in a twin/triple bedroom, another twin bedroom, bathroom with shower and tub and a second bathroom with shower only. There is also a large recreation room with separate spa dry sauna and shower, separate gym and private body treatment area.

Amenities include satellite TV, internet connection, fax, hi-fi with CD player, air-conditioning in the bedrooms, washing machine/dryer, dishwasher. Just 500 meters from the villa is a grocery store where guests can purchase typical local produce and larger stores and supermarkets can be found in Lucca.

Guests also have the possibility of renting a Raffaelli yacht (14 meters) with skipper. Rental can be arranged upon arrival with the owner.
