Il Boscarello is located in one of the most beautiful parts of Tuscany, along the Via Lauretana – a splendid road offering breath-taking views of the hills and the ‘crete senesi’ – running between Asciano and Trequanda, 35 km south of Siena. The villa is an ancient structure dating back to the 17th century when it was used as hospitality for travellers going to the thermal baths at Montalceto, nearby. It has been totally restored over the last six years with all interiors re-designed and now offering large, elegant and luxurious accommodation, furnished with beautiful family antiques, heirlooms and paintings. The walls and ceilings have been frescoed with great care, faithfully reproducing the atmosphere of the ancient Tuscan villas.

Adjacent to the villa is a beautifully decorated guest house (The Capanna) with two bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom, living room and kitchen, thus totally self-contained and independent. It is rented only in conjunction with the main villa.

Sitting on top of a hill with 360-degree views of the Tuscan countryside, we reach Il Boscarello from its own private driveway, just off the main provincial road. It is an imposing sight, with its two large wings and the beautiful central loggia overlooking the paved front courtyard and garden. The total area of the villa is 535 square meters pus two loggias used as living rooms.

The ground floor offers three spacious living rooms, one of which is decorated with the family’s and other significant Italian coats of arms, and a large dining room. These rooms open to the garden or to the rear covered loggia, a perfect place for summer dining. There is also a large casual living or dining room with large picture windows, wood fired bread/pizza oven and an ancient stone wash basin. The commercial-style stainless steel kitchen is adjacent. On this floor is one double bedroom and bathroom suitable for handicapped guests, with direct access from the front through French doors.

The staircase leads to a loggia, with four large arches, which runs across the front of the villa opening at one end into a sitting room which in turn opens to a large panoramic sun terrace. On this floor are six double bedrooms and one twin bedroom, each with its own ensuite bathroom. Each bedroom and bathroom is decorated in a different color with its own unique style. Bathrooms continue the color theme of the bedroom and are very luxurious. Two offer Jacuzzi tubs and most are fitted with both tub and separate shower stall. All rooms have a mini bar fridge and telephone.

The large swimming pool, with hydromassage corner, is set on a natural terrace just below the villa in a panoramic position. Underneath the pool is a sauna, changing rooms and showers. A pool house offers basic cooking facilities and refrigerator.
