The estate is composed of the owner’s villa, set privately apart at the rear of our accommodation, and of a few country houses (some restored internally and some not) surrounding a small, striking piazza which opens onto the valley below. Two of the ancient farmhouses, Fortunata and La Piccionaia form part of the same building dating back to the 16th century.

With a floor space of approx 270 sqm, Casa Fortunata is the central nucleus of the building and is comprised of two apartments, Casa del Rosso and Casa Fortuna, each with three bedrooms; thus if renting both apartments there are 13 rooms on 2 floors accessible from inside by a stone staircase with 6 bedrooms, 2 large living/dining rooms with kitchen areas, 4 bathrooms with shower, and one loft space above one of the living areas.

The independent apartment, called La Piccionaia, sleeps 2+2 and is composed of a spacious living area with sofa bed, a kitchen and a bathroom on the first floor, and a bedroom with bath on the upper floor. There is a spacious outside covered terrace with table, which comfortably seats 14 for dining. The view looks onto an antique gazebo, the swimming pool and the valley below. The swimming pool (14 m. x 7 m.) has Roman steps, a gazebo and dining table.

The property is surrounded by centuries old landscaping, which winds down towards the Arno River, offering cool refuge in the quiet of the Casentino forest.

From June to September (period when pool is open) the entire property is rented as one unit: Casale Fortunata + Piccionaia for a total of 14 persons (+ 2 on a sofa bed).

During the rest of the year, Casale Fortunata can be divided:

• the first floor (called “Casa del Rosso” for 6 persons);
  
• the second floor (called “Casa Fortuna” – also for 6 people);
  
• and “La Piccionaia” 2 persons + 2 on a sofa bed.
