Nestled in the rolling hills between Chianti and the Crete of Siena, in a magnificent setting, is the estate of La Selva: It was originally a Medici castle, taken over in the XV century by the Siena and French armies, and is now an ideal place to spend a lovely vacation in harmony with nature. The scenery is typical of the pictures painted by the Renaissance artists. It has sweet hills and sweeping valleys, marked by noble cypress trees and adorned with vineyards, olive groves, and large forests of oaks, giving shade from the heat of the summer. These ex-colony houses built by the Grand Duc of Tuscany, Leopoldo II of Lorena, have been renovated with all the modern comforts and decorated with the simple and original style of the times. Each house has a private pool.

Within a 15-30 minutes drive, you can visit the art cities of Siena (25 Kms), Monte San Savino and Sinalunga. In the direction of Chianti there is a constellation of little medieval villages and castles, full of history and each with their own personal story through the centuries. Within 30/45 minutes drive you can visit places like Cortona, Assisi, Perugia, Arezzo, Volterra, San Gimignano, Pienza and Montalcino. Florence is only 45 minutes away.

CASA FELCIAI (500 sq mt)

Very old large farmhouse, recently renovated, which was part of the large noble farm, with a gorgeous view over the surrounding countryside. You are surrounded by vineyards, sunflower fields and enjoy the bucolic scene of horses grazing on the flowered fields. In all directions there are oak woods untouched by the advance of our ‘civilization’. It is easy to spot local wild animals such as deer, wild boar, wild goats, pheasants and hares.

Situated about 200 mts (215 yards) from the villa La Selva, this house and its sister Casa Fabbri, is on the small road that leads to the wonderful medieval hamlet of Montebenichi.

Behind Casa Felciai is the pool 10mt x 5mt, set in the open countryside, complete with outdoor furnishings and a large barbecue.

The interiors are in traditional Tuscan style with a good use of color and very spacious rooms. This house is very suitable for a large group of couples or two families. There is central heating.

Ground floor – A very spacious living room with fireplace, a dining room, a fully equipped kitchen (oven, cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher), a TV room, one twin bedroom, three rooms with king size beds and four bathrooms with shower.
Upper floor – Four rooms with king size beds, one twin bedded room and five bathrooms with shower.

Annex Torrino (110 sq mt)

A separate house nearby, attached to one side of Casa Felciai, with a private garden patio. It has two bedrooms with king size beds, two bathrooms, one with shower and one with tub, a separate fully functional kitchen, with eating area, a living room with a fireplace. The interior decorations are of a very high and stylish quality in keeping with Tuscan styling. It has a large private patio with a barbecue and garden furniture and a table for outdoor dining. This romantic little cottage shares the pool with Casa Felciai.

CASA FABBRI (565 sq mt)

This is another large separate farmhouse on the same estate with the typical Tuscan tower and includes a small house located about 200 mts from the main house, Casa Felciai, and accommodates another five people in dormitory-type sleeping accommodation and with one bathroom shower. This is suitable for children or young adults.

Casa Fabbri has a private pool 10 x 5 mt with pool and garden furniture, a large built in barbecue, a large shaded parking area. The house and the pool are surrounded by old oak trees. It has a spacious covered terrace attached to the house, 54 sq mt, with a huge marble and iron table for outdoor dining. All furnishings are antique and in Tuscan style. Central heating.

Ground Floor: The main entrance leads to the kitchen, or dining room, or the living room. A large fully equipped separate kitchen has a raised fireplace. The enormous dining room with a wonderful single long dining table, refectory style, seating 20, opens up to the swimming pool through two large doors. A spacious living room with another fireplace adjoins the dining room and there is a separate TV room. Also on the main floor are two bedrooms each with two single beds and a bathroom with shower. From the hall is another door which opens up to the pool.

Upper Floor: Access from dining room. Sleeping accommodation is in four bedrooms with queensize beds, one bedroom with two single beds, four bathrooms with showers.

The Side Building (135 sq mt)
This separate building is located six meters from the main entrance of Casa Fabbri. On the lower floor is a large room which can be used as a living room/playroom and one bathroom with shower. There are two rooms with five single beds dormitory style.
