Located in the charming and exciting area of Trastevere, close to the Cestio bridge and the Isola Tiberina, this lovely apartment is on the first floor of an ancient building, with a floor space of around 50 sqm. Since the foundation of Rome, Trastevere was considered a separate city. It is today extremely Roman in nature and the residents call themselves the "real Romans". It is a characteristic part of the city and boasts many restaurants and pizzerias. The Jewish ghetto houses one of Europe's oldest surviving Jewish communities. The imposing Synagogue set up in 1874 also hosts a museum about Jewish life and rituals. Via Portico d'Ottavia with its Renaissance and medieval architecture is the centre of Jewish life. The furnishings are beautiful with antique furniture in the sunny living/dining-room, which offers TV (italian channels). The kitchen is well equipped with washing-machine, electric stove/oven, fridge, toaster. There is one master bedroom (antique furniture) and an ensuite bathroom with shower. All windows overlook the small quiet street. Guests can walk to the many restaurants nearby. |
