This gloriously restored fortified Farm House and the adjoining Barn are situated in the medieval hamlet of Estrepouy on top of a limestone hill between Agen and Condom, just 90 minutes from Toulouse or Bordeaux. The Farm House sleeps 8 and the Grange 4.

They are taken together in July and August. For the rest of the year the Grange can be rented separately and is perfect for a long let. The village of Estrepouy boasts a 12 century gothic tower, has only 13 inhabitants and remains almost entirely untouched by the modern world. The Farm House dates from the 16th century. The Grange is of 18th century origins. A stunning formal garden faces south, planted with boxes and lavender. The swimming pool faces south across the valley to the church of nearby Gazapouy on the next hill.

Completely restored by a leading architect and designer and furnished with a superb combination of antiques and modern furniture.

Every modern comfort has been incorporated but all the original features, like beams and stonework, have been preserved. Under floor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs.

Huge living room with a fireplace, which looks out through 2 pairs of French windows onto the south facing terrace and the garden. Dining room with dramatic window to west garden. Completely new fully equipped kitchen which retains the original fireplace and stone sink.

La Grange

Ideal for long lets (outside the peak season of July and August) for authors or artists seeking the perfect peace to be found in Estrepouy.

Gastronomy is one of the main delights of the Gers – Armagnac is to be found in almost every village, while the great centres of Condom and Eauze are only 10-20 minutes away. Confit and foie gras are major specialities, as are prunes from Agen, figs and walnuts. There are also excellent local wines to be tasted as well as the local aperitif, Floc. Equally, there are many good restaurants, details of which are to be found in the house book.

There are many interesting historical sites within easy reach of the house: the moated chateau of Fources which boasts a fine restaurant, the medieval Abbaye de Flaran, the Chateau de Cassaigne, the Roman villa at Seviac, the Cathedral at Condom. Agen and Auch are also worth visiting, and Toulouse and Bordeaux can easily be reached. Condom and La Romieu, both 10 km from the house, are on the pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostella.
