This spacious and stylish house, built in local stone, is tucked away at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. With breathtaking views of the sea and the Amalfi coast, it sits in a sunny position 6 km from Amalfi and just 4 km from the small town of Maiori, renowned as having one of the largest and most beautiful sandy beaches along this beautiful coast.

Secluded, while at the same time within easy reach of the many nearby villages, Villa del Re is a perfect hideaway for those seeking seclusion and full privacy. The attractive sea-water swimming pool, suspended high above the bay, is completely private and enjoys unbeatable views. The terraces around the pool and to the front of the house are adorned with flowering plants and pots, and equipped with big umbrellas, shower, lounge chairs and outdoor dining furniture in several areas, ideal for relaxing while enjoying the beautiful views. The sunsets from here are really stunning.

The property is reached via a gently descending private driveway of approximately 1.5 km, through a shady and scented pinewood, olive groves and thick Mediterranean vegetation, all cascading down to the sea. Private parking for three or four vehicles is available for guests in the villa grounds or along the driveway.

The villa offers comfortable and spacious  accommodation for up to  twelve people in six bedrooms, all furnished  with discerning taste, and with the added benefit of en suite facilities and  individually controlled electric heat / air conditioning  units.

The spacious interiors have recently been restored  and  nicely  decorated in a mixture of modern and fine antique furnishings, combining comfort with tradition and charming contemporary design, in perfect harmony  with the antique  terracotta floors and thick whitewashed walls. The large, open-plan, split-level living/dining area is  bright and airy with full length windows and  glass doors that run right around the room. There are unguarded terraces  and drops  at the property, so child supervision is necessary.

The accommodation (280 sq mt  +  190 sq mt of  terraces) is as follows :
From the parking area, entry is onto the big paved terrace, with sea water swimming-pool surrounded by umbrellas, deck chairs and with an outdoor shower.  Nine steps leads up to a cane covered terrace with table setting for twelve and two glass French doors opening to the interior and a spacious open-plan  area consisting of the living area furnished  with three comfortable  4-seater sofas,  a central crystal topped coffee table. The room is furnished mother-of-pearl and wicker chandeliers, modern lamps, telephone, satellite TV, antique chest of drawer, ornaments and the windows offer lovely views. The dining area is on a slightly raised level, with table for twelve people and French windows opening to the side courtyard.

Past the dining room is a fully equipped kitchen with several cabinets, cooker with four gas rings, electric oven, microwave oven, fridge/freezer, toaster and dishwasher. Adjacent to the kitchen is a separate laundry room with two washing machines and ironing facilities; a corridor leads down to the sleeping area which consists of
• One bedroom with three single beds, wardrobe, bedside tables and en-suite bathroom with azure printed tiles and wall mounted shower.
• One bedroom with double bed, crystal bedside tables and antique wardrobe, French windows giving onto the  terrace at the rear of the house and en-suite bathroom with azure printed tiles and wall mounted shower.

From the sitting area an internal staircase of 16 steps take you to the upper floor where we find
• A large bedroom  with  antique wrought iron  twin beds ( 1mt x 1.8 mt),  wooden  parquet flooring, antique wardrobe, wicker armchair and  French door up to three steps that lead to a large balcony area overlooking the sea.
• Spacious double bedroom with wicker bed and armchair, wrought iron bedside tables, wooden parquet flooring and wardrobe. It has a window which overlooks the pool below and the sea and a French door up to three steps that lead to a large balcony area overlooking the sea.

Both bedrooms have adjacent full master bathrooms with tub and hand held shower, washbasin set in white tiled counter tops, WC, etc.

A single bedroom - accessible only from outside - is located alongside the pool area. It has a French bed (180 x 120cm) with antique wooden bed, terracotta floor and en suite bathroom with wall mounted shower, WC, basin, etc. An additional annex, accessed from five exterior stairs provides further accommodation for two people. It contains two French beds (can be made as a double), wicker closet, portable air conditioning/heating unit and en-suite bathroom with wall mounted shower, WC, etc.  

Access: Private road through remote-controlled gate situated on the road level; approx 1.5 km down to the parking area suitable for three/four cars. Car recommended.

Facilities: Sea water swimming pool (17mx5.6m) with outdoor shower, laundry room with two washing machines and ironing facilities, dishwasher, satellite TV, heating and air conditioning throughout, telephone for incoming and outgoing calls, microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer, electric oven.

Services: English speaking manager on call. Local cook, food delivery, babysitter, cot and high chair available for an additional  fee.
Maid service: 3 hours per day (Monday – Friday) with change of linen once a week.  Extra hours upon request on confirmation of booking, payable locally.
 
Distances: All essentials (bars, restaurants, shops, banks and post office) are situated in Maiori town centre. The bus stop for the long distance buses (SITA bus) that will allow guests to reach Maiori (4km), Amalfi (12 Km), Positano (9 Km) and Sorrento (18 km) is 100 meters from the gate of the villa.
In season (April – October), frequent boats and hydrofoils ply daily from Amalfi  to Salerno (1 h) , Positano (20 mins), Sorrento ( 1 ½ h) the islands of  Capri (1½ h.) and Ischia  (2 ½ h) and  the city of Naples, all easily reached for  pleasant days out.
