At a glance

Villa Santa Croce is located along the costal road at 3 km from Amalfi town centre, in one of the most enchanting spots of the Amalfi coast.

Surrounded by silvery olive groves, pine trees and many other Mediterranean plants all cascading down to the sea, it has spacious terraces on three different levels with pergolas covered in a cascade of pink and violet bougainvillea pergolas. The blue tiled terraces offer almost a touch of Greece with the white washed walls and are well-furnished with outdoor furniture, built-in seating, marble tables and garden seats which provide very comfortable areas for al fresco meals.

More paved terraces and gardens planted with pink and red geranium, are situated around the property. The swimming pool, set on the terrace at the third and lower level, is surrounded by a spacious terrace with terracotta floor, twelve sun loungers, two showers, and a shaded area with dining table and chairs for twelve.

The sitting room with terracotta floors and an attractive tiled insert has been furnished in elegant coastal style with a beautiful crystal table with marble basis, ample and comfortable leather sofas and chairs, open fireplace and French windows to the terrace with in built seating, wicker chairs with table and enjoying lovely sea views.

The bedrooms, furnished in a modern and tasteful seaside fashion, open through French doors to the terraces, courtyards or balconies where one can escape to relax and enjoy the views or take in some sun .

The property comprises a main house and a separate annex. The interiors cover 250 sq. mt with 550 sq. mt outdoors).

The Main Villa
Entrance from the main road into the parking area with space for 2 cars:
From the parking, four steps up to the main entrance of the villa which leads to a lounge area with door to the spacious master bedroom with en suite bathroom (hydro-massage shower), TV, built in wooden robe, old country style chest of drawers and sliding iron shutters opening to the lovely balcony with blue decorated tiles, sun loungers and sea view. A further door leads to the terrace on the other side (50sqm) with garden seats, terracotta floors and geraniums overflowing from large terracotta pots and outside lighting.

From the lounge area a wooden staircase (20 steps) leads down to the spacious dining/sitting room with terracotta floor, open fireplace, sofas for 12 and sliding iron shutters opening to the terrace with built-in seating, blue and yellow printed tiles, wicker chairs and sea views.
On the left of the sitting room a small corridor leads to another two bedrooms:
• one double with yellow leather beds - can be made as a twin -  with TV, in built robe, modern chest of drawers, floor tiled with white and yellow printed tiles and two windows one with sea view and the other opening to the outside courtyard with pine trees, garden seats, terracotta floor and outside lighting .
• one small double bedroom with TV, in built wardrobe in the corridor and French windows to the same outside courtyard with steps to the lower terraces and gardens. Along this corridor there is also one bathroom with massage shower cubicle.

On the right of the sitting room is another small corridor with built in robe.
It leads to:
• one double bedroom with queensize bed, built-in robe, 2-seater sofa, TV. Here the floor is in pink decorated tiles; panoramic window.
• Bathroom with shower and sky-light.

Nearby is the fully equipped kitchen with eight gas rings, American refrigerator with ice maker, wooden table with four chairs and French window opening to the terrace and a laundry room with washing machine and  two  sinks.

The Annex
There are two bedrooms in the annex with domed ceiling, one double with wrought iron bed head, the other with twin beds. TV in both bedrooms and the windows look out to the rear of the house. Blue French doors open to the terrace. Each bedroom has en-suite bathroom with shower and doors to the terrace.

From this terrace 19 steps lead up to the parking area and 15 steps go down to the second level, (reachable also from the sitting room with 12 steps)  covered by a delightful bougainvillea pergola. The terrace is furnished with outdoor furniture, marble table seating 10/12, garden seats, built-in benches and outside lighting.

Three steps lead down to another terrace with garden seats and rocking chairs surrounded by palms, green olive groves, pine trees and splendid views over the sea. Another 40 steps down to the third and lower level with comfortable furnished outdoor spaces, swimming pool (8x4mt), 2 showers, covered dining area for al fresco meals with table and chairs for 12  and beautiful views over the sea below.

Access: remote-controlled gate situated on the road level opening onto the parking area. Car suggested.

Facilities: Swimming pool (4 m x 8 m x 1.50/2.20 ) with 2 showers, washing machine, satellite TV, central heating, air conditioning throughout, telephone, CD player, American refrigerator with ice maker, oven, barbecue, parking area for 2 cars with remote-controlled gate. A communal staircase (approx. 400 steps), close to the  villa, leads down to Santa Croce, a  public beach with two restaurants, as well as umbrellas and deck chairs for hire.

All essentials (bars, shops, banks and post office) are situated in Amalfi town centre.
Bus stop marked SITA to Amalfi (15 min) and Positano (35 mins) on the main road. Ferries and hydrofoil ply daily from Amalfi to Capri (1½ h.), Positano (20 min.), Ischia (2½ h) and Salerno (1 h.). The services operate only during the summer.
