At a glance

This unique property is located right in the heart of the splendid Portofino promontory within a short walk to Portofino's famous little port with its cafes, fancy yachts, relaxed seafood restaurants and designer boutiques, yet the villa is protected from the crowds and offers absolute privacy:  it has its private access to the sea and can't be seen from the access road.

Mareblu is five minutes by foot from the central piazzetta, with its cafes, designer boutiques and seafood restaurants, and the tiny port with its elegant yachts. The Portofino area is ideal for relaxing, hiking, water sports and taking day trips to other areas of the Riviera or to Cinqueterre. Santa Margherita is 4 km away, Genoa is 30 minutes by highway, Florence 3 hours, Rome is 5 hours south and Milan is 2 hours north, and Cinqueterre is a perfect day trip including the train back and forth and walking from one village to the next.

A private elevator accessed by a gate connects the port with the footpath to the lighthouse and the church, and to the villas located along this path. Mareblu is about 300 meters from the elevator. From the entrance gate to the villa there is a stairway down (32 steps). From the villa to the private rock swimming platform there are about 180 steps. The villa is not suitable for people with walking difficulties. Porter service is available but has to be prearranged in advance.

Developed on two levels the villa has a large terrace shaded by a century old wisteria and a panoramic solarium.

A large living room with white sofas and sliding French windows connecting with the patio, formal dining room and kitchen (fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, oven).

One double bedroom (beds cannot be separated) with en suite bathroom with bathtub.

Three of the bedrooms have views of the sea.

Outside: there are several lovely outlooks on the way down (approx. 112 steps) to the sea and the rock swimming platform.

The villa is not suitable for people with walking difficulties.

The natural protected area of the promontory of Portofino has been an attraction for centuries with its mild climate and high cliffs dropping into the sea. This area is very special with its happy mix of glamorous yet relaxed people, luxury villas, natural trails, village fairs, castle walks, yacht harbour and everywhere the turquoise sea. Anyone who stays in Portofino must know how to adapt to the rhythms of a city that is entirely for pedestrians.

It is best to stay here without a car and use public transportation. Trains on the main rail line from Torino to Rome stop in nearby Rapallo, from where there is a bus to Portofino. The local train runs from Santa Margherita to the Cinqueterre and there is a bus from S.Margherita to Portofino. There is also the possibility of boats from Santa Margherita to the Cinque Terre during summer months, and around the promontory of Portofino to the secluded little beach of  San >>>>>>> with its wonderful ancient monastery.

The grocery shops in Santa Margherita can deliver food to the villa (the service is charged). Santa Margherita is a beautiful small town with excellent restaurants, boutiques, enticing gourmet food stores selling the local Genoese specialties, a market and all services.

One extra person is admitted at 400 Euros per week to be paid on arrival.

All the bedrooms are air conditioned and heated (both floors); this means that it is possible to accept bookings for 10 people also during the winter time.
